Everyone Goes Home Safe
Safety is planned into every Harborline Sterling schedule, not added afterward. It protects our people, our trade partners, our clients and the public.
Safety is part of how we build
Ontario's Occupational Health and Safety Act and its Construction Projects regulation set the legal baseline for every site. We treat that baseline as the starting point, and build our planning, supervision and site culture around it.
As constructor, we take responsibility for coordinating safety across everyone on site, and we expect the same commitment from every trade partner we bring onto a project.
How we keep sites safe
Site-specific safety plans
Every project starts with a safety plan built around its real hazards, site layout, emergency procedures and the trades on site.
Orientation and training
Every worker is oriented to the site before starting work. Workers who use fall protection on construction projects in Ontario must complete approved Working at Heights training, and WHMIS training covers hazardous products.
Hazard assessment
Daily hazard assessments and regular toolbox talks keep risks visible as the work changes.
Trade partner standards
Trade partners are expected to hold WSIB coverage, follow our site rules and bring their own safety programs, and we verify it.
Safe digging and road work
Locates through Ontario Dig Authority before every excavation, and traffic control to Ontario Traffic Manual Book 7 for work on or next to roads.
Protecting the public
Hoarding, signage, controlled access and safe routes for the families, customers and neighbours around our sites.
Work with a contractor that takes safety seriously
Put one accountable team in charge: on schedule, on budget, with permits and inspections handled the whole way.
